I just got a new S2000 (I went to DBW AP2 from AP1), and the previous owner had just bought these brand new before selling it to me. So...it looks like I'm stuck with them for a very long time (insane tread life rating!) I'm in an area that never sees rain or snow, so it's quite unfortunate. I'm just hoping that the comfort + noise level is significantly better than summer tires so that I get at least some advantage from them. As far as performance, I'm more interested in its characteristics at the limit rather than how high the limit is. Also, I'm hoping that the poorer stopping distance does not become a safety concern.

I haven't had much seat time in the car, yet, so I'm looking forward to hearing your impressions!

Sloppy and unpredictable all the way up to their low limit, is how I would categorize these tires on the S. Do yourself a favor and remove and sell or burn them and get something better before a fun spirited Sunday drive turns into an unexpected accident. There is no safe spritzed driving on this tire at all. As mentioned previously, just changing lanes on the Freeway is an unsettling white knuckle adventure.

As I said earlier. These are NOT the same Proxes you drove a few years ago. the New Proxes 4Plus came out earlier this year 2013. Your opinion is based on a different tire with different rubber and tread design. I do not doubt your impressions of the old Proxes, but you don't seem to have driven the new Proxes 4Plus, and I will not be taking your suggestion and burning my tires.

I have been driving these new Proxes 4Plus (not old Proxes) for a few hundred miles now and these are my impressions. They are very smooth, quiet, and stable at freeway speeds (70-75mph). On curvy highways they grip well on hard curves, but they start to squeal a little early on the turns. However, they continue to grip after initial squeal and the slide is very calm and predictable with no snappy oversteer.

I totally agree with the other posters who say that it will not compete with a UHP Summer tire on dry pavement. A UHP Summer tire is essential for high performance dry conditions. However, as an all season tire that I will be able to drive in dry/wet/snow these appear to be pretty good tires.

Again, my review is of the new Toyo Proxes 4Plus that came out this year and not the old Proxes that have been discontinued.
