Default tools and supplies for reworking stockers

A while ago my dumb self used a wire brush, because I was short on time, to clean the wheels and later I noticed it scratched them up very badly.

What would I need to go around and sand/polish all of my wheels back to the way they looked when they were stock? Has anyone done this? I know there's also a coating. Is the coating a clearcoat or what? Any input would help.

I don't want to change the look of them because for some reason I like the look of my00' wheels.

I don't care how long it takes to do, I could even do one wheel a week but I'm just so fed up with how they look I need to get them back in shape.

Hopefully you just scratched the clear coat. The clear coat can be removed and re-applied.

If you scratched the actually surface of the wheels, that will obviously require more work, and I'm not so sure how you would deal with the lightly-ridged surfaces of the spokes. At that point you may want to have them painted or powder coated. You could also try to find a company that refinishes wheels. They could probably repolish the wheels although I'm not sure they would have the same look. At that point you may be better just looking for another set.

I don't know that actual materials/chemicals needed to do this. This is what I've learned along they way.

You might want to check with the Spugen guys on the SoCal boards. They powder coat S2000 wheels, and in order to powder coat, they have to strip all of the clear coat first.

Hope this helps.

thanks watermain, I'll check with them and see what they say.

Yea guys I know it would look sweet powder coated black. Especially since I have a CF hood and trunk too. But just in case I end up selling my car I want to be able to make it look stock again.
