Default Tires on AP1 stock rims

Hi,

from the sticky thread, I am looking for:

- 205/55/16
- 245/45/16

What is your recommendation for the best quality vs price? I think that the khumo ecsta 712 might do the trick. What do you think?

I think a good tire for the price would be the Hankook RS2's.

Best quality + performance to price is the oem S02.

IMO (and I am the minority on this point), insisting on 245/45-16s for the back unnecessarily limits tire choice, and eliminates probably the best tires available from consideration.

That said, if you MUST have 205/55-16 fronts with 245/45-16 rears, my money's (literally) on the Hankook RS2's for performance/$$$. I've got 205/50-16F, 245/45-16s on mine btw. No issues whatsoever, excellent grip in the dry and wet.

However, if money hadn't been an object, I'd be on either Bridgestone RE01Rs or RE050A Pole Positions in 205/55-16 225/50-16.

the ecsta supra 712s are def inexpensive, and relatively sticky, but don't last AT ALL. i got less than 10k out of mine and i'm not hard on my car at all.

Right now you can get the potenza re050a pole position from tire rack for about 100 more than the hankooks cost, but you get a 100 dollar gift card back. I think that is probably the best bet because while the hankooks are great, there hard to get right now and the potenzas have better wet tracktion.

I just tried to buy some R-S2's from Discount Tire and they are telling me that not only are they out of stock of the 245/45's, but Hankook is telling them there are none anywhere in the country. Probably 60 days to get them.

Since Falken doesn't make the right size of RT615's for ap1's, the options are really getting limited. Here's a question, do the Bridgestone RE-750's or Re-050's need to be 245/45's or are they more like the S02's and should be 225/50's?
