What is the difference between the Bridgestone SO2 and SO3 Potenzas?

Good question. I have been wondering the same thing lately. Besides the obvious diffrence in tread pattern, what is the difference? Surprised at no responses.

I think from what I've read on this forum, the S02 has better dry grip. The S03 has a little less grip when it's dry, but is much better when it's wet. Neither tire works in the cold. The S02 has a stiffer side wall I believe, so will have better response to transitions but will ride harder. The S03 might be more progressive at the limit.

Also, make sure if you use S03 you use 205/55/16 in front and 245/45/16 in the rear.
