Tire size question
Rim: Rays Gramlights
Size: 17x8.5 F/R
Offset FR: +32 R: +22
I have Tires they are: 225/45/17 Dunlop Star Specs.... these tires are not stretched at all.
i plan to be very low, and i wanna try to use stock camber adjusting... from what i researched i should be fine.
i just installed one front and one rear... both tires are sitting exactly flush right on the fender. Obviously i need to adjust camber and roll fenders which i plan on doing soon.. since i wanna be very low.. i was thinking maybe getting different tires, as i see alot of people useing 2** 40 on their 17 inch rims.
my question is do you think 215 40 17 tires would let them tuck better and a better choice then the 225 45??? i feel the 215 40 would give the tire a little stretch allowing the tire to tuck more useing less negative camber.
i know this is a complete NOOB question!!! i just dont wanna spend money on new tires then fine out it was a bad decision. yes i did research some, but its hard to find people useing the same tires sizes with the same rim size/offsets

If you must stretch a 215, go with a 215/45 since at least that is the correct diameter. If the 225's are already mounted on the wheels, just do your fender work, lower the car, get an alignment and see where you are. I think it's possible to stick with a 225 which would be better for both looks and performance IMO.
