Tire selection help
Hey Jim or anyone I need some advice deciding what tires to get. I've been searching on forums and there has been many different tires people are recommending can't seem to decide.
I'm currently running :
18x8.5 +35 Nitto Invos 225/40/18
18x9.5 +40 Nitto Invos 255/35/18
I just got this car so I'm not really sure, but I think these are summer tires. I'm mainly looking for tires with grip so I don't loose control during the wet/rain season. I live in San Francisco, so mainly just for rain. Or would you suggest me keeping the tires I have right now. I'm a total noob at tires I don't know anything about them so please lend me some good advice THANKS!

For the good all around tire I would also throw in the Hankook Ventus V12 Evo. In a test Car and Driver did the Hankook was rated number 2 overall. Bang for the buck the Sumitomo is also very good.
If I can help let me know.

Star Specs are rated better performance wise, although since I haven't driven the Advan Sports' I cannot really comment. I can say that the Star Specs are definitely top notch, and their grip in the wet is very surprising until about 4/32.
I won't put a different tire on my car unless they're discontinued, or something better comes out for the money.
