tire rotation
I recently went to Les Schwab and asked to have my Ra-1's rotated. Front L to R and Rear L to R. I was told that even though they are not a directional tire they do not recommend it. They said that I would see a drop in performance in the tire. Is this true or are they just trying to get me to buy a new set of tires?

They sure look directional to me. I think you mean they're not asymetrical. In which case you should be able to do exactly what you're saying.
Whether it's worth it or not is another question. You will not get twice the mileage out of tire this way. So is it worth the cost of dismounting and remounting the tires, only to have to do it again in a little while when you do have to get new ones? Maybe, maybe not. Depends on how much you pay for the service and how much you pay for a new set of tires.
But as far as I can see by looking at a picture of the tread, they are wrong about a drop in performance in your tire. Compared to before rotation, absolutely not. Compared to brand new tires, sure. Maybe that is what they were talking about?
