Default Tire Rotation

Is there any tpry of rotation that can be done with the tires? i.e. swapping from side to side?

Some tires are not directional, so the wheel/tire sets can be rotated left-right. For directional tires, the tires have to removed and remounted.

My daily drive tires are not directional, so I rotate them every 5000 miles. I will probably get a few extra thousand miles out of the rears and tires seem no less noisy than others I have tried.

I've always heard that radial tires should not be rotated left/right because the tires develop a wear pattern rotating in a given direction.
