Default Tire Question

I am currently running 17 in Prodrives and need to purchase new tires soon. Contemplating the RE050 or S03. I am lowered. Does anyone have any suggestions or experience with either tire?

The advantage of the S03 is the dual layered rubber compound. Over the life of the tire the S03 will have better traction especially in the wet.
Both tires will handle well in the dry.

I like my RE050 tires... but they can be really scary in the wet. I can break them loose without engaging VTEC if there is just a bit of moisture on the ground... but if you drive sane it's not an issue.

I haven't tried the S03's. I was thinking about the BF Goodrich KDW-2 tires for my next set in 225/40-18 and 255/35-18. They seemed to get good reviews at Tire Rack and had both the fastest dry AND wet lap times out of the tires tested

Do we get a Discount at Tire Rack? I found a set of 18" wheels I want

Jim,

I have a question with those tires. I am going to be running

F225/45-17
R 255/40-17

I have lowering springs that are about 1.25 inch drop. Do you think I'll have problems rubbing? Will having lowering springs determine whether I should go with S03s or RE0502?
