Tire problem and service
I recently had a flat rear tire on my '03 S2000. I took it to a local shop and the sidewall was damaged. The last time I needed tires our local Honda dealer gave me the best price so I called them. I was surprised when the service writer asked what size? I told her the Bridgestone Potenza S-02, 225-50-16. They had to order it so two days later I air it up and head their way. A little over an hour later I am on my way, with a real problem, torque steer from an incorrect tire installation. I take the car back and tell them the problem. They had installed the RE 760 Sport All Season tire. I also noticed they had not washed or vacuumed the car. They ordered the correct tire and I had to rent a vehicle for three days until it arrived. Other issues also came up but finally I was called and i had four tires again all the same size and no charges for the rental. Also found out when I saw the car cleaned, that the first time, they could not figure out how to put the top up. While as i told their QC lady I wish they were more up to day on their older models, they ended up treating my properly.

As long as they took care of you! I find that most places don't quite know much about the S2K and how to work on it, although the tires are nothing special. I use NTB by me and they alwasy do a good job, especially since they allow customers to watch while they work!

I feel you on how they might have mishandled the S2000 regarding the soft top.
They had to clean and vacuum so they had to do what they had to do and yes, most places don't know how to handle the S2000(ie. soft top, reverse gear, etc.)

It's disappointing when a service provider who formerly gave you great service performs poorly later. One would think they would have noticed a mismatched tire. But of course if the service writer wrote it up wrong, the installer might have assumed you knew what you wanted even if it wasn't a proper match.
I'm guessing you didn't look at the tire before you got in the car and drove away. Call me silly, but I always check such things, particularly when it is so easy to do by just quickly eyeballing it. Of course, I'm probably a worry wart and all, but as the old commercial said, there is a lot riding on my tires.
Glad they eventually got it all corrected for you.

I failed to notice the improper tire until I accelerated. My fault there. They ended up treating me properly. I left out another issue because they corrected my initial problem. I almost purchased two rears to be sure the wear would be even, but luckily the LR was within tolerance. Had this one since new and still under 40K.
