Default Tire mounting help

Alright I redid my ap2v1 wheels myself and now I am going to get some new rubber mounted on them. How do you guys suggest not having the shop mess up the edges of the wheel. Any methods you guys have used before. Lemme know.

Find a shop that works with higher end wheels and you'll be fine. If you see nothing but 15" steelies laying around the place then you might want to find somewhere else.

Good advice but I really have no idea of a place like that around here. Idk I'll look around. Thanks.

How effective would putting a few coats wax on the wheels be? Would that hurt the paint at all or actually help it (besides protecting the surface).

if they are powder coated you should be fine spray paint 90% of the time chips once the tire machine's duckhead touched the wheel and starts spinning... But just make sure they use the sleeves on the tire bar or if they use touchless machines like a corghi you'll be 100% fine..

Wax is great for wheel finishes, but it won't prevent a serious gash in your wheel if the installers are careless.

Just tell the guy you'll throw him a $20 if he doesn't scratch your wheels.

Take a look at our installer list. We do make sure they all have good mounting and balance equipment. I would also make sure they see there are no marks on the wheels beforehand.
