Default Tire Indexing

Hi i was wondering if anyone knows what the pros and cons are of indexing a tire upon a wheel by using the valve stem to index with the red or yellow dot upon the tire?

Ive noticed the S2K comes from the factory like this ( the red dot upon the S02 tire is indexed with the valve stem) as do all modern day production motorcycles. Usually only motorcycle tire techs will index them but Im wondering if not indexing them causes huge amounts of weights to be placed upon the tire.

Thanks K

Sometimes it is 180 degree oposite to balance correctly. What you are talking about is match mounting. It is a good place to start the balance but it doesn't have to end up there.
