Default Tire Fitment advise

Hey guys,
I am in the process of getting some new wheels for my AP1.
Wheels specs:
17x7.5+45 F
17x8+48 R

Proposed tire size
F: 225/45/17
R: 255/45/17

Can you please advise if this set-up will work? Based on what i have researched on this forum, i should be able to get away with no fender roll. Car will be lowered on coilovers....
i am a little unsure about the tire width though. Your input is much appreciated.

Thanks

The rears are to narrow. You should stick to a 245 if you have an 8 inch tire. If you can get the rear in either an 8.5 or a 9 inch width the 255 will be fine.

Also I would still consider a fender roll if anything just to be safe. I have seen people mess up their fenders with stock wheels when they are lowered.

Also with either the rear tires you want a 245/40/17 or 255/40/17 not a 45 series tire.

Thanks mate,

yeah i'll get the fenders rolled. i was hoping to get away with the 255 rears as i like the chunky look. But like you said, the 245 would be a safe bet.

I think 255 would just bubble to much on an 8 inch wide wheel which hurts performance. Get a good 245 and you will be fine.

I agree with Manga on this.

Ideally with your proposed 225/255 tire sizes, id like to see you add at least .5" width to your front and rear rims and would be no issue with the same offset. 1" additional would be better in the rear. This suggestion would basically put your tires at a strait/square profile, no stretch and no bulge.

I would run the 225/45R17 and 245/40R17 on those wheels. The 255/40R17 would have to be stretched and with that offset you could have some rubbing even with the fender lips rolled. I just think the 245/40R17 fits the wheels better.
If I can help with the tires let me know.

thanks guys,

i'm also contemplating going with a non-stagger set-up running -
18 x 8 +48
245 40 18 all round.

again i would love to go with 255 all round, but based on your comments, its not advisable. so 245 would be the next best thing.
also with the tire profile, a few of you may recommend 35 instead of the 40. but the 35 are not so common, not much choice..

do you think the above is a straigh forward fitment? am i likely required to roll the front fenders as well?

thanks

Ap2 rear wheels are 8.5 from the factory. This is why everyone is saying to look for wheels that are at least that wide if not wider. You would then be able to do a 255 all the way around.
