Tire decision
I have a 2003 S2000 with the stock s02's on it. The rear tires are pretty much done and I wanted to replace just the rears because i have a track day or two before the year is out. next year i'm planning on getting all new rims and tires anyway, but i need rears for now.
Obviously I dont want to spend a lot on tires because its only for the years end but I need them to be at least the same quality as the stockers. Whats my best option for what I want to do?
Thanks guys, I appreciate it.

If you are going to track the car you should match the front tires. I do have the OE tires in stock at 177.00 per tire. If you wanted a better price on a tire with similar handling I would go with the Kumho MX at 87.00 per tire. It is not what I would recommend but they are a good tire.
If I can help let me know.

Yeah but one bad incident on the track is going to cost you more than good tires. Maybe even your life. You are better off matching the tires so the handling is the same front and rear.
Let me know if I can help.

yeah, im not too worried about crashing too much only because the track is out in the open without walls...plus the last time I went out, I was on pretty worn S02's.
I agree about the tires matching and i've never bought mismatched tires, but I can't see spending $400+ on new tires that will be gone next year.
Thing is the fronts and rears on my car are so far apart in tread wear, i would think its like having two differnt kinds of tires on there. granted the compund would be the same, but the tread wear is so far apart.
I'll buy 4 new tires if you want to throw in 4 wheels

Hey Jim,
would I be able to get away with the s03's that you have a deal on?
225/55WR16
Blackwall Serv. Desc: 95W Price: $90.00 (each)
or do you really think the kuhmo would be better?
