Tire choices? Falken Azenis FK453 or BFG comp2
#11
I would choose the BFG comp 2 over the falken. And in comparison to the comp 2 and Evo v12, the comp 2 beats it in pretty much every category but price. The comp 2 has better grip and stability due to a stiffer sidewall (and yes, these are based off of 1st hand experience).
Like everyone else has said, I would look into better tires like the zII or re-11a. Even for daily driving, these cars are so much more fun with proper tires. These types of tires are generally more expensive and don't last as long, but they are well worth the added cost.

I'm also a fan of the COMP-2 (though I haven't tried the Falken to compare it with). If you're a serious autocrosser you can do better, but I don't think it's worth the price jump up (or more generally the decreased lifetime on more sticky tires) to go up a performance category; it really just depends how serious you are about your occasional lap times vs. how much you want to spend.
I don't think you can go wrong with the COMP-2's for daily drivers though, and in my limited experience they're fine for autocross if you're still learning and aren't that serious about it yet (I'm cheap though).
