If you're running the stock (offset) rear wheels, the 255 RT-615 should fit with no problem. Note: I'm only lowered about 1/2 inch, if you're really low, you may have some issues.
Not even close... 17x9 +45 in the rear... and im lowered about 2.25 in (see sig)... makes it pretty tight back there lol.

You could run the Falken tires on stock wheels dumped but the OP already stated that he was running pretty aggressive offsets.

Pretty much decided on RE-050 or RE-01R's

You can get the 215 RE01R's from canada.... its just exspensive. Now i need to decide if its worth the extra cash...

You'll need to stick with a 245 in the rear with that wheel offset.

Yeah... Already got too much camber dialed in now. If i put anymore just to fit a 255, id prob end up loosing more contact than id be gaining.

RE050: 700.14 shipped
RE01R: 786.8 shipped
Dunloop: 610.01 shipped
(Maxx)

Um....

Try the Falken Azenis RT-615, they are stiff in the sidewalls, very sticky and come in 215/45/17 and 255/40/17. I'm running them on my AP1 with a modified suspension (more AP2 like) and 17 in wheels (SSR). This tire setup provides superior performance to the original AP1 SO2 (even with the suspension mods. considered).
Added bonus: they're very reasonably priced.
Superior performance when compared to the S-02?

No.

The closest thing in that post that is true is that they are hella cheap. I'm running 245/275 Rt-615's on my Time Attacks. I paid something like $560 for the four tires.

Im looking to either run 215 / 245 or 215 / 255

What do you guys reccomend? I dont rub now, but thats just because ive got -3 camber in the rear. and im only running a 245 in the rear. If i get tires other than the RE050, ive been told that id prob want to run 215 / 255 to keep the same stagger, but ill prob start rubbing if i did that.

i love having a stiff sidewall on my tires, ride quality and noise doesnt matter (my exhaust is incredibly loud). What would you guys choose?? Im running SPT's now, but just for winter / rain... im now looking for a more sticky summer tire.

Id love to get the RS2's in 215 / 245, but the 245's are out of stock everywhere..

What do you guys think?
Are you opposed to running a street legal R-compound?

You're entitled to your opinion, but my numbers on the track say differently...
THAT'S the only thing that's true about my post.

I also have experience seeing the S02 tires fare slower than the Falken RT615s.

Grass Roots Motorsports conducted a test and they actually ran their fastest times with RT615 tires. They were tested against the Yokohama Advans as well as other reputable brands. Now, I would believe that you would agree that Yokohama Advans are better track tire than the S-02s right?

Never ran those, but I did have the Yoko AVS Sports and the ES100's on the S. Both sucked with the ES's standing for Extra Slippery.

Unless a test is done with the S2000, I do not immediately believe the results to be valid for us. Look at all the TireRack comparisons and charts. Some of those are ridiculous(no offense to Jim). Because of our car's weight, balance, and rwd, there are times when everyone is raving about a specific tire that it ends up being crap on ours. Sometimes folks won't admit it because they do not wish to feel bad about a purchase. I'm not saying the RT's are a bad tire. I'm not saying the S-02 is the best tire ever.
