Those running SSR GT3's please respond
Alright guys, i m jumping off the deep end and decided that id allow a company to use my car for their prototype for their new coil over suspension. Anyhow, i was wondering if any of you guys running the GT3s have your car lowered and what kind of rubbing issues you experienced. For reference purposes please include your tire make and size as well. Hopefully i dont have to take the baseball bat to the fenders
Thanks in advance

Sherwin,
Does this mean you're going to lower your car???
Hopefully, the rub isn't too bad! I don't have GT-3's but my rears rubbed on the rear upper bumper lip and the bolt/washer that holds the rear bumper to the quarter panel. I had to cut some of the rear bumper plastic lip.
In the front, it rubs on the top outer fender lining. Usually, the top two pegs that hold the lining to the fender gets destroyed!
My rubbing issues are only on rare occasions of almost full compression.
Good luck!

sherwin,
i don't have the GT3's, but do have the GT1's with 225/40/18 in front and 255/35/18 in rear (S0-3's)......i trust that the two wheels are VERY similar in offset chracteristic.
i have no rubbing issues lowered on KG/MM's - 1.4 inches lowered all around....

Sherwin,
Is the coil-overs from Japan height adjustable? Is so, then you have some room to play with.
I had to raise my car up .5" so it wouldn't rub constantly. I have now approx. 1.5 finger gap between top of the tire and fender.
I guess is also depends on your camber adjustments too.
Too bad I don't have my car with me now. We could meet up and I can show you.

Steve, if i remember correctly, you are running the BBS wheels correct? Those arent even the correct offsets but they sure look good
The coil overs that are going in are JICs, so yes they will be fully adjustable. The really nice thing about these is that when you lower the shock, you lower it from the base which does not reduce ANY travel from the piston itself. I thought that was pretty cool. Suppossed to come in lighter than factory as well, so we will see.
Anyhow, I dont plan on lowering it for looks, i plan on corner balancing the car for the track. I m assuming that would mean about 1/2 inch drop in the front and maybe 3/4 in the rear. i have heard of people using bats to roll the fender but i wanted to see what else people have had to deal with. I was hoping that someone out there was running the same wheels i am so i know for sure. Thanks a lot for your help Steve and Nimesh.
