Is there anyone with 18's that don't rub?
I feel like I've read it all, and still can't figure out what offset with what tires will work with 18 inch rims and a drop without rubbing.
If you have 18's, can you lend me some wisdom and share your setup. I really want 18's, but I don't want rubbing once I lower it.
Thanks,
Chris

You will have to go with a custom set up. Iforge, Kenisis or HRE. You need at least a 70+ offset for the rear. Can't remember the fronts but I have tried 3 different rims (SSR GT1s, OZ Superleggeras and BBS RG-Rs) and they all rub, worse when you lower your car.

Thanks Mutlu,
I had even thought of going with some Fikse FM-5, I've always liked those.
So, am I understanding correctly that the larger the mm offset, the further the rim tucks into the car, and the lower the offset, the more it pushes it out?
What about going with an 18 x 9 in the rear with a +62 and getting a 245/35/18 rather than a 255/35/18? Or would that tire fit funny on a 9 inch rim.
Thanks for putting up with all my questions, I'm just trying to figure out how to get some 18's on my car.

I'm running 18x8 and 18x9.5's with 225 up front and 255's in the rear. No rubbing whatsoever but then again, my car is lowered only slightly on Eibach Pro-Kits.

I'm running on:
Volk LE37T 18x7.5 +48 fronts & 18X8.5 +50 rears
Michelin Pilot Sport PS2
225-40-18 front
255-35-18 rear
Lowered 1" all around on K&W Variant III coilovers
No rubbing whatsoever.

I know, Tony, I really want those wheels, but I just don't want the rubbing. I haven't been able to find anyone with those offsets that doesn't have a rubbing issue.
Are you going to get them? What have you found out so far? I am almost thinking of just getting them and then putting on an Eibach spring to just get a little drop. I had originally wanted to go with Teins or Espliers (sp?), but I think that will be too much of a drop. I don't know, I feel like I've read every post about offset and rubbing and I still cannot get a concrete answer on what setup works. If I just do it or find something out I'll let you know.
