Default Sumitomo HTR Z III?

Anyone have experience with these tires on an S?! Going to be running staggered 17" fitment and I'm looking for a good cheap tire with stiff sidewalls.

Ive had em for about 12k now. Rears are almost toasted but im gonna push em for another 3k. The front will go another round so im going to pick up a set of rears again. IMO alot better than the SDrive's I had on there before but the stock Bridgstones and Starspec's are suppposed to be another world. To sum it up the III'z are great daily drive tires, have plenty of grip for spirited drive through the twisties, and good in the rain too and for the price ($99 rear / $83 front) cant be beat. Im running 215/45 up front and 255/40 in rear. Rears make make the car look alot more aggressive over 245's. Very predictable handling, feedback and controlable slides. I reccommend them for daily driving, I tracked them at big willow in the rain and they did Ok. Eventhough they are good tires im going to try Starspecs next time around when i need to swap all 4 out.

Thanks for the in depth review Ankur. I should of mentioned, the S2000 is my April-November car for weekend or nice days only. Don't plan on ever seeing snow/rain/cloudy days even since I have an STi for a daily. I'm basically looking for something nice and gooey like the stock CR tires or comparable somewhat to that. If you say the stock RE050's are like that then I might check those out a bit more first.

I just bought a pair of zIII 255/40 for rear on my ap2 with stock wheels. I have some crappy knock off tires in the front that probably have 2500 miles left on them. Should I go with 215 or 225 in the front??

Personally i dont like the way 225's look on a oem 7 inch wheel, I like 215/45, but its ur choice.

Not really concerned about the look of the front tires. Id like to know what would handle better with the 255/40 rears. My front is already tucking tires, Id be afraid they might rub.

If you search there is a post about the sizes. Our front tires section width is quite narrow compared to other 215's, they are almost like 205. If you put 225 up front you will change the stagger offsets and car may understeer more. I went with 215 because they were as close to stock stagger as we can keep with III z's. and 255 is actually the same tread width as the stock re050
