You can do it, but the car will be spooky to drive at the limit. The oversteer will be prodigious. I would recommend against it. How can you not find a 245/45/16??? It isnt an uncommon size. Call the tire rack.

i just checked tirerack and theres not much of a selection for tires. the only ones i would consider getting are the Yokohama AVS ES100. are those pretty good?

If only driving on the street (ie not super hard), going with the stock setup of 205/55 on the front and 225/50 on the rear will be fine, despite those who say you need a 245/45 on the back.
The Hankook RS2 notamaster mentioned are great tires, but will wear out fairly fast. If you can live with the 205/225 stagger, there are many more options for you as those are pretty popular sizes. I'm partial to Falken's and will either get the FK452 or the 512/912 for my next set of tires. All of those should be available in the stock stagger, and are pretty cheap on edgeracing.

i think i got my whole set for like 500 bucks or somethin shipped, i got em mounted and balanced for 20 bucks.

Azenis would be great. . .but Falken doesnt make them in the correct size for AP1 front wheels.
Unless you want to run same size all around, which is, as seen earlier in this thread, not highly regarded for the S2000.
There's also the fact that they'll wear out quicker than lots of other tires since they're a max performance summer tire.
