Without the hub-center as a point of contact can't you get excessive vibration?

If not, then I'm still tempted to go this route as I've got (4) STi BBS 17x8s sitting uselessly in my garage...and even the 18x8.5s aren't very expensive...

Though I suppose that still won't let me run 245 square without rubbing (no rolled fenders here)

The tapered lug nuts are what pulls the wheels into center.
