Default star spec tire to rim question.

Just got my rpf1 sbc's in! there 17x8 +45 17x9 +45. My question now is im not a big tire wheel guy i actually rebuild transmissions, is a 225 45 17 and a 245 45 17 my best bet in this situation. Thanks for the input fellas!

The best setup would be 225/45/17 front and 255/40/17 rear or you can even do the 245/40/17 rear but do not do a 45 series in the rear it is too tall.

215/45-17 F, 245/40-17 R will be your best bet for clearance.

Other options:
215/45-17 F, 255/40-17 R
225/45-17 F, 255/40-17 R

Wouldn't go 225/45-17 F, 245/40-17 because of the "big fronts/little rears" look.

As mentioned, 245/45-17 is the wrong size!

ill also add that the car will mostly be a car show car, and a track car maybe once or twice a year.

was thinking more along the lines of a 225 40 and a 245 40 .... making only a 8mill difference from fronts to backs

235/40 and 255/40 would work as well. But, might cause fender clearance issues. I imagine you'd need a slight roll in the fronts.

I dont understand your insistence on running 225/40 and 245/40. The options zdan listed are the correct ones.

I'm saying id rather have a 225 40 and a 245 40 because the side wall of the tire from front to make is only a 8 mill difference. why would u want taller side walls in the front?

true there is zero options for a front 225.... last question, would a 215 40 17 and a 245 40 17 give the car a slight rake? since the side was is a half inch difference. Or should i just order up 215 45 17 and 245 40 17's? Thanks guys
