Default SSR Comp's 17" wheel question

Looking at the tirerack site they list the SSR comp's in 17" as the following;
Fronts 17x8
rears 17x9

The question I have is with the 8" width on the fronts. Is there any drawbacks with this setup vs a volk ce28 with a 7.5" front wheel width? I have a stock suspension, but will be adding a X-brace soon.

17x8s will give the front a total of an inch more footprint/contact patch than the 17x7.5s. The CE28s are a bit lighter than the SSRs, though. Sure would be nice if Volk made some 17x8.5 and 17x10" rims!!!!!

Not sure of the offsets, still investigating......

But looking at the weights, what i've seen with prices, and offset issues the Volks are becoming the #1 choice.

I'm running the 17x8 & 17x9 SSR's and the fronts rub occasionally with a 1.5" drop

The offset for the front 17 x8 is 48mm, and the rear 17 x9 is 55mm. Are these ok? I'm still at stock height and will be running 215/45/17 and 245/40/17 Kuhmo MXs or Azenis Sports if I can ge them.
