Default Spoon/Regamaster Wheels

Are curbage on the Spoon/Regamaster wheels repairable? My friend told me they are made of magnesium so it would be expensive hard to repair. If this is untrue then what are they made of? I know they are probably forged since its so damn light. Any inputs would be nice. Thanks

SW388s and Regamasters are made through the shot alumite process which makes wheels even lighter than forged wheels. as for repairing, i've just seen curbed spoons/regas powdercoated or painted. but if there is a crack anywhere on the wheel it is probably done and needs to be replaced.

what's shot alumite? a search for it only brings up the spoon website, did they make this up or something?

well from the two sets that i have seen in accidents, i would say no. the first set i saw the car smacked an embankment and just scratched the face, where as the other set hit a curb, cracked and that was the end of the wheel. you could TRY to have the wheel repaired at a shop and see what happens.

Most places use a putty then paint them so yes they should be repairable.
