SO-3 vs. SO-2
I recently got new rear tires for my 2002 S-2000. The original rear tires were S-02 225/50R16. The service manager of the local Honda Dealership talked me into switching to S-03 225/50R16 tires due to the fact that S-02 tires were backorder.
I will be needing new front tires soon. Currently, I have S-02 205/55R16 front tires. Should I switch my front tires to S-03 in order to match my rear tires? Or should I stick with the S-02 tires if possible?

s-02s are pretty lousy in rain...
s-03s improve the wet handling.
but the s-03s are not as sticky in dry conditions as s-02s... then again, nothing that i know of is!!
i wouldnt mix s-02s and s-03s

They have done it again. The Honda dealers are telling people to change to S03 but using the OE S02 specs 225/50.
For S03 or any tires other than OE SO2, it should be 245/45!
See a thread I posted recently in the Tire Forum. I went thru a lot of hassles and the Honda dealer just refused to even acknoweldge it as an issue.
All in all, with a 225/50 S03 setup, you lose 10% of your stagger ratio.
