I talked to my tire dealer about the WS50's and LM22's, but we got a little confused over matching the sizes, based on what I've read on this and a couple of other threads.

What size would be best for the rear on the stock wheels? Also, do you think I should switch all 4 tires? If so, what size should I use for the fronts?

Thanks.

The stock sizes (205 front/225 rear) are what is recommended by the manual. You don't WANT wider tread at the rear for snow traction. On the tirerack.com website, you can check the wheel width range for any available tire spec. Our oem wheel widths are listed in the spec section of the owner manual.

Btw, Blizzak MZ-01 are still available thru Firestone in these sizes... I have been happy with them over the past two winters... just bought new 225's at the rear. Snows on all 4 corners are recommended to avoid squirrelly handling

I think all you good folks on this thread have proven something I've believed in for quite some time: That the differences between one brand and/or model of snow tire and another is not as significant as the NECESSITY of putting any type of dedicated snow tire on this car when winter season driving conditions are encountered.
This thread should be "bookmarked" to use as reference info for when winter "newbies" ask the usual question next winter.

Do not drive with the OEM's in any kind of snow. One half inch of slush with ice underneath put me off the road going 14 mph. It was worse than slicks on ice. The potential for getting hit by someone else is just too great. xviper is right on the money.

Just as an FYI, I wasn't able to get ANY kind of snow tires locally, so I ended up ordering from Tire Rack. They were very helpful, and my LM-22's should be in by the end of the week.
