Check alignment. Excessive rear toe can cause the back end to move around over bumps/irregularities while driving in a straight line (wider tires could exaggerate it). I wouldn't run more than ~0.3 degrees total rear toe, personally I run 0.2 degrees total.
Also consider that new tires will be more squirmy in any case due to tread depth.
