Default Significant Change in Ride quality?

Wow. I am amazed at how much smoother my ride is from the Stock RE050s. Is it because of the different tires or a combination of balancing/new tires.

With the OEM tires, the ride quality was harsh and bumpy. Now, it feels so smooth with the Dunlops Z1

I've got a set of RE050s that are about 2/3 worn down and holy cow the ride is crap. Even amongst people who are tire experts (I'm not), they are considered very stiff riding tires.

New tires tend to ride a lot smoother than worn tires, but even with that into consideration, the Z1s are most likely smoother.

The sidewalls are much stiffer on the RE050 - if you saw a cross section of the tire, you'd understand why.
