Selecting new tires...help!
Picking up a 2007 Silverstone and has Volks CE28 17x 8 and 17x9 wheels. Tires are shot so I need to get a new set but not sure about size and best choice for the S2000.
The car is a weekend driver and will never be raced, but it will be driven aggressively in the mountains and twisties. Never sees rain/snow and rarely driven at sub 50 degree temps. I want good dry grip and wouldn't mind a slightly improved ride over the Ultra stiff rubber but hate body roll....I know that's in direct conflict
I am very familiar with the RE11A (on a different car) and find that it has good dry grip but not as good as say a AD08R. I've driven the PSS (on a different car) and think pretty good, especially ride quality, but they tend to lose grip if pushed on twisty mountain roads. I have not driven the RE050 so don't know how they work on this car. Really dislike the S04's bc of poor dry grip. Any tire suggestions????
BC the car already has 1/2" wider front and rear rims I was thinking about going 225 45 frt and 255 40 rear , instead of stock sizes but concerned I may tradeoff the surgical cornering feel inherent in S2000. I've also heard running 215 45 front and 255 40 rear is good.....any help would be appreciated.
So bottom line: what size and tire would be the a good match?

Well, do you want better ride or do you want grip? Re-11As will ride better, Z2s will have slighly better grip.
R-S3s are softer, but IMO they suck in the rain if you get caught outside and they won't last as long.
