Default safe to run non oem 225/50 on rear tire?

noob s2k owner who finally got into a used ap1 after wanting it for yrs. just read up on it and i had no idea that non oem rear tire needs to be 245/45. is it ok for daily calm regular driving with non oem 225/50 on rear?

Yes. The best performance options aren't even available in 245/45, so you are much better off with a ultra high performance tire in stock size. I'll save ZDan the trouble and say to ignore the sticky, it doesn't really apply.

Read the stickie? OK, now forget it. The community would be better served if it disappeared. The case for a "need" for 245/45-16 was tremendously overstated IMO, and as noted there aren't any top tires in that size anyway.

205/55-16 front 225/50-16 rears is TOTALLY FINE.
