Default S2k wheel and tire fitment

Could I run 225/50/17 upfront and 245/40/17 on rear. The reason for this set up is because the 225 is from my current rear wheels and the 245/40 is all they offer for extreme contact. Any thoughts? Switching over from the ap1 wheels to ap2v1 wheels. Sorry Im not very good at what wheels fit best.

The 225/50/17 diameter is huge in comparison with 245/40/17

I imagine you'd set off some sort of ABS related issue due to the different wheel speeds.

So...no. Not compatible.

Also, if you're switching from AP1 rear wheels, you have 225/50/16. Not 17.

Thank you for the quick response. Guess I’ll have to get all new tires. Any recommendations for correct tire size? I have a AP1 and wanted to make sure the ap2v1 wheels fit properly.

ive been reading a few posts and have mixed opinions. Could I get by with just the oem tire size if they are going on a ap1?

Yes. You can use the stock AP2 sized tires.

OEM AP1 and AP2 tire outside diameters are the same making them interchangeable. Just bolt them on. Honda probably matched the AP2 17" tire sizes to the AP1 16" to avoid having to re-engineer all the ABS circuitry, speedometer, etc.

Just put your AP2 wheels on the car and fit OEM-size 215/45-17F/245/40-17R tires. You can also run 225mm fronts and 255mm rears without difficulty if the suspension is unchanged. "CR spec" tires are 215/45-17 and 255/40-17 which is what I've been running for years. The extra 10mm on the rear looks extra good.

Tire Rack shows at least 11 different tires in the Extreme and Max Performance Summer tire categories in the OEM sizes and 5 more if you want 3d tier Ultra High performance like the popular and competent Bridgestone Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires. Don't forget Discount Tire (which owns Tire Rack) can get anything Tire Rack sells in a matter of days.

Keep in mind Extreme Performance Summer tires will shower the bottom of your car with tiny gravel 'cuz they're so sticky. The boarding kennel where my pups vacation is a mile down a private road that I discovered was just graveled! The car will run at 4mph! Gonna pick them up in the Expedition.
