Default S02 Flat Tire Repair

I picked up a screw in one of my stock S02 tires. Can that be patched by any tire dealer or does it require a "Plug" which I heard is needed for some high performance tires?

You can plug it...

It's easy.... buy a kit and do it yourself....or take it to the shop and watch them do it so you know for next time.

Not so easy. It depends on where the hole is and how big the hole is. The tire mfg's recommend a plug and patch kit to keep the same speed rating on the tire. If the hole is near the shoulder of the tire I would scrap it and buy a new one.

I found a great article on the subject at the Tire Rack web site last night. Had it fixed today the correct way with both the plug and patch. It's a short article, here's the address if anyone cares to read it: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/tec...e.jsp?techid=77

i got a bolt in one of my M3 tires near the shoulder. I used the M mobility kit which includes an electric pump full of this crap. basicly like a fix a flat but doesn't eat your rims. the hole was too big so it shot everything out. sucked. but it was a good excuse to order new S03's in bigger sizes to replace the garbage oem pilot sports.
