Default rubbing issue with Bilstein PSS C/O with 17in OZ SL.

My 17in OZ SL have ET45(17*7) front and ET48(17*8) rear and I'm running S-03 225/45/17 front 245/40/17 rear.

Car doesnt rub when I corner hard but it rubs(front mostly, sometimes rear when 200lb friend riding with me) when I go over bumps high/low speed.

Is it because of my wheel has too much offset? or my C/O is too soft?
I'm running one finger gap all around.
Should I roll the fender?
TIA

If the wheels fit, then in most real life applications, you shouldn't be rubbing even when lowered.

Given the specs above, your rims do not fit the car. That's what you get for making an uneducated choice.

My recommendations: get rims that fit or roll the fenders.

Hey I wouldnt say it was uneducated choice.

First I called tirerack. I thought I could trust guys at tirerack..maybe not
and also I did some search thru s2ki but not many ppl have 17 oz sl and most of them were running stock suspension.
Some ppl with 18in(same offset) sl rubs front with toyo and other tires but not with S03. some ppl rubs some ppl dont.

So I assume that I wont have major rubbing with this set up.
Also for rear, because PSS has softer rear spring rate than stock rear, I was worried that it might rub with ET48 and it does rub ONLY when car is fully loaded and going over big bumps. So rear was actually better than I thought.

Also front and rear tires doesnt stick out of the fender at all..it is just perfect looking now tho...

I knew these wheel have much offset(et45 front) but I see other s2k owner with this offset and have no rubbing.

Still suxs that my tires rubs slightly..maybe time for rolling fenders..

As for the rears, you may not need to roll the fenders.
Checkout my resolution for my rears...

most wheel u listed is way more $$ than OZ sl..

Cant beat OZ SL because

17*7 OZ SL only 15.5lb $280
17*8 only 16.5lb $280..

downside...too much offset..
oh well...

Wish I could have $ to buy some nice FIKSE or HRE

jwkim,

the SL's are a great value and the offsets you posted aren't bad. Why don't you just raise the car a bit if you're concerned about the rubbing, that's the great thing about coilovers.

I'm running 17x7.5 +48 and 17x8.5 +54 with 225 and 255's and about 1.2" drop all around and no rubbing

What you really meant to say was not enough offset.

Try running a little more negative camber. The car handles better and you get more clearance. Then if it still rubs you can roll the fender lip.
