Rub?
First choice:
F: 17x7.5" +50 225/45-17
R: 17x9" +55 255/40-17
Second choice:
F: 17x7" +50 225/45-17
R: 17x8" +45 255/40-17
First set of wheels are WedSport AS-90s from Tire Rack. Second set is Kosei K-1s also from Tire Rack. personally I'm not too sure about the look of the K-1s, and they aren't as wide, but they much lighter (and somewhat cheaper) than the AS-90s. WedSport AS-90s are 19.5lbsF and 22lbsR, K-1s are 13.7lbsF and 15.4lbsR.
I'm looking for wheels under $300/piece, 17" with at least 8" width in the rear. Would love some gloss black w/ a polished lip, but bronze/gold or gunmetal would do. Not looking for the immediate future so please don't PM me wanting to sell the wheels of your vehicle because I can't purchase them at this time.

Certainly going to be better than the 18x8" +37 POS wheels that are on there now! LOL....
I found that evasive has the WedSports in 17x7" +43 F and 17x8" +42 R...price is better than Tire Rack, but offsets are way too low IMO and they aren't as wide.
Also have been looking at 5-Zigen ProRacer GN+ in 17x7.5" +48 F and 17x8.5" +48 R. Don't know the price on the, but they look damn good IMO.

Using information provided by spa-zz on stock specs and 1010tires's offset calculator, I gather that the ProRacer GN+ might actually be a little better than the WedSports. They are both going to require rolled fenders and possibly 245 tires instead of 255, but they're close.
** On the inside, the rear WedSports (9" +55) will have 9mm less room than stock. On the outside, they'll extend out 29mm (just over an inch). The Front WedSports (7.5" +50) will have 8mm less room on the inside and extend out 18mm.
** Rear, ProRacers (8.5" +48) = 4mm more inside room and extend out 30mm. Front (7.5" +48) = 6mm less inside room and extend out 20mm.
So, the WedSports extend out 29mm in the rear but will have 9mm less room on the inside. The ProRacers extend out 1mm more but have 4mm MORE room than stock on the inside.
After further investigation, I find that the Kosei K-1s are actually BETTER than the WedSports or GN+s.
** At 8" wide +45, the rear K-1s extend out only 26mm and have 14mm MORE room on the inside! At 7" wide +50, the fronts have 1mm less room on the inside and extend out 11mm.
^ Thes may be able to fit 255 rear tires without rolling the fenders. PLUS, they're the cheapest of the bunch at just under $200/piece for the front and just over $200/piece for the rear. Again, I'm not too sure about the look.
*********** Does anyone have a picture of an S2000 with Kosei K-1s? Can only tell somwhat how they will lookfrom Tire Rack's generator.
Forgot to add...I currently have 18x8 +37 wheels on the car (I know, don't say anything, they're shitty but were free). The rears extend out 34mm and will rub on bumps with tires that have just over an 8" contact patch (225/45(?)/18).

Evasive Motorsports have the same WedSport wheels that I've been looking at, except in different width/offset. I originally though the offsets were WAY too low, but after putting them in the ofset calculator, they're no worse than any others I've already listed...
* Rears are 8" +42 = 17mm more inside room and extends out 29mm.
* Fronts are 7" +43 = 6mm more inside room and extend out 18mm.
I still think the rears need to have a little higher offset because 29mm seems a bit too tight even with 245 rear tires.

Another option would be O.Z. Ultraleggeras. They're 18" and silver, but I like the way they look. At $295/wheel, they're a little on the expensive side for me, but you get what you pay for
Fronts are 18x8 +48 which equates to 12mm less inside room (ouch!) and they extend out 26mm (yeow!). Rears are 18x9 +55, which has the same specs as the WedSports at 9mm less inside and extend 29mm. They're close, but should just fit.

17x9" +55 is guaranteed better then 17x8 +45 for the same 255/40/17 tire in regard to rubbing. The only time you worry about wheel width in regard to rubbing is when the inner wheel lip is close to suspension parts or chassis. There's no such fear for this problem with the S until you go something like >10" wheel width AND >+65 offset on a 16" wheel.
