Wow this is a crazy thread. I would not personaly drive everyday on budget rims but I would def use them as track rims or a spare set. I dont see anything wrong with rotas anyways high dollar race cars use them for the track. But kayvan you got really mad, not called for. You have had some nice rims I have to say. And I guess you make decent money at 19, but there is people here that make high 6 figures and the s2k is a toy car. I wouldnt get all big headed on how much you make and the rims you can buy. At 19 I owned 04 E46 M3 SMG (not stock), and R1, GSXR 1000 (both bikes over 150 real wheel horespower) lived on my own in a $1800/mo condo in hawaii WITH OUT PARENTS HELP..I was single then, now engaged my life changed as so with the responsabilities. Please dont get offended just trying to make a point.
i wouldn't call it a crazy thread... i've seen more ignorance on other car forums before. from what i've seen so far on s2ki, people tend to be more mature about their posts. except for kayvan here.

with the driving i do and the abuse the roads put on cars, if i spent big $$$ on rims i would feel bad about daily driving on them. so while i would generally disagree about daily driving on budget rims... but i see where you could consider cheaper wheels more suited as track wheels are they're more "disposable" in terms of the cost. but on high dollar race cars i'd expect them to use something of higher quality.

I heard the 17" rota D2 did not fit our cars. But now they came out with 18inches. Has anyone test fitted these wheels? I'm kinda hesitant to pick these up at the moment, they look pretty cool at times and look kinda generic compared to the Work Meisters. Any reviews?
You know... this thread would be much more civil if people knew how to answer the questions asked.

The point is to answer a question, not deviate into your own argument about something irrelevant, post pointless pictures, etc...

Question 1: I have not test fitted them, maybe someone has. 18x7.5 +48 and 18x8.5 +48 should work if you don't drop your car. If you choose to drop, you may have to roll your fenders, it'll take a some adjusting and alignment to make those offsets work.

Question 2: Rota is not generic, however, maybe not as high quality as work wheels. They seem to be very good for the money, and there are many people happy with rota wheels. All wheels can crack, all wheels can bend. Works are known to crack, SSR Comps are known to bend, etc...

well said.

i have a friend looking into the D2's for me as well as to inform everyone. apparently they don't make an 18x8.5... only 18x8 and an 18x7.5 or something.

however, it seems they do make a 17x7.5 and a 17x8.5. not 100% sure. but ill keep everyone posted.
