what effect, if any, does changing the tire diameter have on performance?

does this put increased wear on the transmission or other systems?

does it throw off the speedometer/odometer?

 

If you get a wheel and tire that is as light or lighter than stock ther would not be any negatives other than a little stiffer ride. The speedometer and odometer and gear ratio will all be the same if the correct size tires are used.
