Tread depth should be considered as well

I had the non-Star Specs in 235/255 sizing and they were great up until they got down to the 2/32 depth. Excellent grip levels and very easy to recover from a slide.

My rear grip dropped off badly when I got down to the wear indicators.
I don't have the z1's, but on the Dunlop SportMaxx, I notice the same thing happening. I'm pretty much on the wear bars and they just don't grip anymore.

Great writeup blue
Try to run 34-35 hot, top up, 255 all around, and go for sub-2:05.

Speaking of BW, I should be back out there.

Looking for someone who went from RE050A pole positions to the z2 star specs.

You haven't broken them in yet. Give them a little less then 500miles and you'll wonder why you haven't gotten them earlier. From what I can tell about responsiveness, these tires have a stiffer if not just as stiff of a sidewall as the Bridgestones. What size tires did you get and what alignment are you running?
This is the first time Ive changed my tires. My RE050 lasted 24kmiles, probably have 2-3k miles thread left on it too, but I just couldnt wait anylonger so I installed the Z1 SS along with my new wheel.
I still like the stockies better and hoping this will get better after break in period. Excellent grip on my second day. I tried to whip the back end and these rubber sticks like a mothaf@cker! lol. Didnt even set off the VSA..
