Once I hit the wear bars grip dropped alot for me (rear tires). IDK, maybe they put a harder compound in near the wear bars because these tires wear so fast. Or the heat cycling finally got to them. Let me know what you find out. I loved these tires though, best bang for the buck.

How did they do with heat cycles at the track? Did they feel greesy?

What about wet performance? Hydroplaning resistance? Noise?

full tread to half tread they were great in the rain. once they were less than 50% the rear started to try to float in heavy rains. Don't even try to drive close to 70 (highway speed) when your less then 25% in tread. 225f/255r. Rain-X FTW also. And I'll say these tires are great in damp road conditions also. They have minimal noise until you get close to the wear bars. Then they start sounding like a truck tire.

I have Summitomo HTRZ III (same size) on now and they are even better in the rain especially in pooled water. But I miss the Dunlops superb dry grip.

My rear grip dropped off badly when I got down to the wear indicators.

unfortunately, i have not used these in the wet yet. i'd assume they are way better than the azenis though. don't expect to be going 80-90 in the wet though.

the fact that this was the first time tracking the S, i stuck with hpde2 so after pushing them to the limit (or should i say, my limits) i would then hit traffic with only very limited passing zones on the track so they had a little bit of time to cool down a bit. i didn't experience any greasyness. the one time i did however, was because of tire pressure. after that particular session, i went back into the pits, adjusted the tire pressure and the rest of the day was perfect.
