Replacing Tires on my '05

I have an '04 and am running Pirelli P Zero Mero M&S at 215/45 and 245/40 on stock rims. Tire rack has no listed footprint size. Excellent tires with very neutral handling. The side walls are slightly soft but this is only slightly noticable in tight, fast corners. Of course the ride is a bit better for it...

I run my 04 with Dunlop SP Sportmaxx in the stock 215/45/17 and 245/40/17 set up.
I too was also worried about getting the same tread width as the very narrow RE050, but the 205/45/17 Sportmaxx which obviously comes closer to it than the 215 does is not available in the UK although the US does get it.
I wrote up my experience of these tyres in a post in this section under Sportmaxx but suffice to say I am sticking with them.

I just purchased 225/45/17 and 255/40/27 Fuzion ZRI's... SO far, the tire is nice.. I like the looka nd feel... Not to mention the price: $500 installed with tax and everythign!

I had ES100's on my 95 M3 I had. They were OK tires, for the price they were decent, overall not the highest performance tire. Depends on your driving habits really. If you don't get the tail end out then they're fine.
