Replacements for Discontinued Bridgestone Tires?
Hi Y'all --
Getting near new tire time and my Bridgestone S04s don't show up on Tire Rack anymore. The RE71R is there (in sizes I can use) but these show "closeout." I almost cried a few years ago when the RE11A tires were dropped -- but the S04s seemed to run as well.
Any known Bridgestone replacements for the S04 or RE71R?

Looking at tire rack’s website it seems fairly obvious this is the replacement for the S04 and S007A.

It took me one minute to figure this out on my phone.

Thanks, I looked right past the Potenza Sport probably due to the TW 300 rating. Fully realize TW ratings are largely arbitrary and not strict traction/handling ratings. Current S04 tires are TW 280.
Alas, not available in a 255/40R17 size (rear).

If you want 215/255 stagger your best bet is just going to be going on tirerack’s website and picking whichever you like from that size list. If you want to stick with bridgestone, then stock AP2 sizes may be your only option.

Yep, that's what it looks like right now. Actually I am (was) considering 225/255 this time -- for no scientific reason other than perhaps a bit more turn in. I experimented with "CR" spec size last time (2016) and all seems well. And I can't deny the wider rear tires look good from behind the car. I'm the first one to note "brand loyalty" is BS but for some reason I've stuck with Bridgestone and irrationally, no doubt, shun Michelin.
Measured tire tread earlier today and it's still fine so some of this is academic for at least the summer. Will all come to a head if I have to replace a tire from damage.

I went with CR stagger on my AP2v1s
The front Bridgestones on the S2000s were really thick tires so they were more like 225 to begin with.
I have Conti Extreme Contact Sports which are over 300tw but grip great in the dry and fantastic in the rain. Turn in is not 200tw Bridgestone good but better than the S04's I tried. I have put about 17k miles on the set and am close to having to replace the rears. They have only been street + mountain driven but I could keep pace with some cars in the mountains running STR setups.
If you are needing more grip than that the Falken 660's are the most affordable grippy tire in our sizes but they are 200tw autocross tires and they do run large so 215/255 would be like running 225/265
