Default RegaMaster by Desmond

Hi,

I'm looking at the Desmond Regamaster's. Here are the choices I have:

17 x 8.0 +35
17 x 8.0 +45

17 x 9.0 +38
17 x 9.0 +45
17 x 10 +20
17 x 10 +40

What would be my best bet?

Thanks

I would say you would have a problem on the rear. The 17X9 ET45 is the closets but you really need up around a ET55 offset.

Desmonds are also available in 17x7. I'd say your best bet would be 17x7F (I believe they have a +45 offset, which would work fine) and 17x8R +45. With 17x9 +45, you'd have to run a narrow tire, which to me, defeats the purpose of running a wider wheel.

Hmmm, I see ... so I should be still be able to run my stock MY05 tires?

Will the fronts clear the Spoon Calipers?

Yeah, 245s will fit on the 17x8s, but you may be a bit close on fender clearance, but a bit more negative camber can resolve that (at the price of wear).
I just did a quick search and couldn't find the 17x7s listed anymore. I know they had them once cuz there used to be some DC2 and EG/EK guys running these.
For clearance, the +45 won't clear spoons. You'll need a +35 for that.
Good luck searching.

Thanks, I wish I didn't have to mess with the original sus geometry but it looks like almost any aftermarket wheel requires it (less the ce38n, mf10 etc).

Well I will be lowered with Spoon Progressive Springs (-25mm) about 1.0 inch. Do you think the rears will rub? I will of course be getting it professionally aligned.

BTW, here is the list of size options:

There ya go, they're available in 17x7. So, 17x7 +35 for the front and 17x8 +45 in the rear w/ 245s and you should be fine. The +35 in the front should clear the Spoons (the 16x7 +35 clears spoons).
If you rub w/ the drop, increasing negative camber a small amount should fix that. It's not bad to play w/ the original alignment specs...keep in mind those specs are targeted toward a wide audience. Many ppl change alignment specs to get the performance/wear combo they want.

Thanks, I appreciate your knowledable, unbiased help

However, i'm still very keen on running a wheel that is very close to stock specs. I guess i'm going to have to decide between the 3 or 4 that fit the car perfectly or maybe go with a custom made wheel from the WORK wheels lineup....specifically the new XSA 01T:

what do you guys think? what would be the ideal custom setup for the stock tires?
