Default reccs on 17in rims/tires?

Ive decided im going to go with a 17in rim for the AP1.

Now I'm a bit confused because im not used to the structure of the rims for the cars placement and the 17in rims in general.

The avaible sizes for the rims are:
17 x 7.5
17 x 8
17 x 8.5

Offsets are avaib from +20 - +48

I want to go with a deep offset (is it the 20 or 48?), can you guys inform me on which rims to buy for the front and rear and why you suggest your suggestion. It seems like its not typical to buy the same size wheels for the car all around.

Also, what bolt pattern am i looking to buy?

And then theres the tires......................

As stated above, i want to go with the deepest offset and yet keep the car driving well.
I'm not sure what size/brand of tire to go with in relation to hieght of the tire. It seems a lot of people like the thinner tires for the s2k and bigger rims, im used to riding a higher tire on a 15in rim.
Please explain.....
What tire sizes and brands would you recommend for the front and rear?

For the S2K you would want to stay on the higher side for the offset. Somewhere near the 48mm offset would be the best. If you are down around 20mm offset they are not going to fit without a lot of work on the fenders.
The tires size would depend on the specific wheel and offset of the wheel you choose. I would suggest find the wheels first and the go from there with the tires. If I can help let me know.

also - should be going with 2 diff sizes of rims for the front and rear?

R - 17x8.5

+48 deep, +50 deeper, +55 deepest or more deep +65,Get it? For handling, without mods,it is best to stick with the oem sizes and stagger. The Ap2 sizes would work great without any headaches +20 Would make your car handle like poop and be sticking out like "Dumbo" dat flying elephant.I like cartoons

When you say "deep" are you referring to the lip of the wheel, or are you talking about how far in the wheel sits in the wheelwell?

The higher the number, the further inside the wheelwell that rim will be.

The factory specs for 17" rims are 17x7 +55 with a 215/45/17 front, and 17x8.5 +65 with a 245/40/17 or 255/40/17(CR) rear. Using these numbers, you can calculate how much further out your new rims would sit. A 17x8.5 48 rear will be 17mm further out; about 3/4". A 17x7 +48 front will be 7mm out, just over a 1/4 ".

Many people here choose to run low numerical offsets, which stick out to the fender and beyond. A 20 offset would certainly do that. The reasons for this are many; among them are the fact that a low numerical offset typically has a deeper lip to it, which people feel looks better than a flat faced wheel. Also, people like the wide aggressive stance that they give. If you're running a widebody kit it's a must.

Even in the low 40s offset range, if lowered, it is typical to need to roll the fenders, relocate the rear bumper mounting tab, and add a little extra negative camber so the the top of the tire does not come in contact with the fenders.

Running 20-30 offset, tons of camber (which eats up tires), big drops (limited suspension travel, much firmer ride), that is all about looks. You need to decide if that is what you are going for, or you like the way the car handles and drives in a closer to stock configuration.

thanks 2000, you really cleared a lot up for me.

i was refereing to the "deeper" as the lip. i like the look, but i think that if its going to run the ride - then thats not what i want. i want to go with the deepest look possible, without damamging the ride and whatnot.

im thinking a +45 or +48 in the F & R would do just right eh?
