Default Rear Is Rubbing On 18" Wheels (lowered)

Hi folks

My 2003 is lowered with Eibachs and Koni yellows (on the higher perch) and I have just fitted a set of 18" Volk CE28N. The rears are 8.5" with an offset of +47, tyres are 255/35 Yokohama AVS Sports.

I have checked on the forum and this appears to be more or less the offset and tyre size that people are using. The problem is, at the rear, the tyres stick right out to the edge of the wing (fender?) and on cornering or bumps the tyres are catching the lip on the wing.

Am i using the correct offset for the rear as it does not seem ideal (are there any other offsets available for this wheel)? If it's correct, what do you guys do about the rubbing? Put up with it, roll the lip, cut the lip, use a 245 size tyre to try to get rid of it? Any ideas?

Thanks for your help.

THe 18x8.5 +47 offset would fit on a S2000 but it's not an ideal offset when dopped more than 1inch. You need at least something greater than +55 offset to not rub when lowered

Honestly, that's not the correct offset. You should be at least +55 if you want that width and tire size. You can go with a 235, and rubbing issues would be better. But ideally if you want to keep that offset and tire size you need to roll your fender.

I agree with Turbo the 47mm offset is not high enough and you need a narrower tire. You may have to even roll the fender lip to make a 245/35R18 fit. Most of the wheels we carry start at a 55mm offset for the rear.
If I can help let me know.

Thanks guys

Does anyone know if the 18" CE28N is available with a better offset than +47?

imo:

1. fix offset

2. speed align the suspension (that fixed my rear rubs- none now)

Should have got the 17's with the nine inch rim and +63 offset.. I think I am going to go this route myself (17's) because they fit right.
