IN MY OPINION, not "In tire rack's survey."
Your opinion is of value, as you've run both. But I wonder how many of the Tire Rack survey respondents had experience with both?

Anyway, short of objective test data, they're all just "opinions".
But fwiw, in the Tire Rack survey the Star Specs ranked higher in every single category, including "dry traction" (9.5 vs. 9.1 out of 10).

I don't take the claim that RE070s are "better" than Star Specs in the dry at face value, but if you do have objective lap or autoX time data, I'm all ears!

Haven't tried the RE070s. But have the Star Specs, HTRZIIIs, s.Drives, and RE-01Rs on 4 sets of wheels. Out of all of them, I love the Star Specs. Great dry and wet performance. I've taken all the tires to the track except for the s.Drives. I wasn't fast at all with the Sumitomos. I was much faster in the RE-01Rs and Star Specs. I think the RE-01Rs are better in the dry but I prefer the Star Specs because they are even better in the wet. Can't wait for the HTRZs and s.Drives to wear down so I can replace them with Star Specs.
