Default RE050A PP rear tire wear on AP2

I was hydroplaning the other day going to work in the rain. I got back home and changed out my Volks with the PP tires back to my stocks. The tread wear indicators were showing in the rears. (The rears are 17" 255) I got about 6K mi. out of them with just daily driving. The wear pattern was pretty even. I'm running 1/4" toe and -2 deg camber in the rear. No track days. Excellent traction until they became worn.

The fronts still look good.

I'm guessing this is pretty typical for these. Anyone else care to chime in that has these tires? I may have to revert back to a more conservative alignment, esp the toe in.

I'd say thats about right. You can get a couple thousand more if you push the tire to almost race slick. In the 4 years I've owned my car I'm on my 5th set of rear tires and im at 32,000 miles.

I see most people around 12K to 15K on the rear tires if there is no track usage.

I am at 9K miles with the pp tires with a total toe of .32 and -2 camber.. i think the tires will last another 3000 or 4000 miles.

Actually I got more like 5 K on them before the TWI started showing. I dont drive too aggressively on the street. I was hoping to track them, so I'll just run my stocks before the next event.

I think I'm going to have the rear toe checked too.

If the wear is even, by default its not the alignment. Just burning them up.

Interesting, the tire rack, spec sheet for the RE050A PP, show 140 treadwear, for the 255/40/17, and 280 for the 245/40/17 (OEM size).
