Default RAYS lugnuts

I just bought 17" ce28ns and some people told me that factory lugnuts won't do so I'll have to buy rays lugnuts. is this true? also if I do have to buy lugnuts is it worth buying lightweight ones? I've been searching through the forums but there is no definite answer. which ones are the best? are those formula ones any good or will I be paying more for bling than functionality?

I know these topics have been covered loads of times before me but I can't find any anwers

thanks

You can buy any type of "tuner style" lug nut that has a straight taper seat design. The oem lug nuts have a bowl shapped taper. You can use lugs by Rays, MXP, Mutecki or many manufacturers. If you are using aluminum lugs, i would suggest Rays or MXP as they seem to be the most durable in my racing and street use experience. Muteki has many affordable steel options in many colors and designs.

Here are some options i spoke of:

Muteki:

MXP:

Please PM or email me with any questions you might have.

I just got a set of Rays Duralumin lugs. $220 new, but I paid $70 used with locks. If I were buying new - I wouldn't buy expensive pricey lug nuts. New BLOX lugs run $70~ish without locks. I don't think there's any performance benefit in lightweight lug nuts - at least not in the benefit/cost ratio. Most are anodized and the finishes chip, peel, or fade. It looks like mine were handled with an impact tool a few times and it shows in the finish.

When I bought my RE30's new I got a set of standard rays tapered lugs. Heavy chrome steel, but they do the job, and I used an OEM wheel locks. If you need a set I'll give them to you just cover shipping.
