R888 Experience?

R888 Experience?
So I've been contemplating tires now for the last two weeks.
My car is supercharged, 400 whp. It maybe sees 3,000 miles a year (a fun spirited drive through the mountains here and there), but will be autocrossed roughly 6-10 times this year.
Last year I had the re050's, and then I supercharged it and just stuck with the re050s. They were horrible when autocrossing. I obviously need something that will provide more traction.
So I'm thinking about switching over to the R888's. I'd prefer to be lazy (if possible) and would like to not switch wheels every single time I choose to autocross. It's garaged kept, temp controlled 24/7 so the tires would never see freezing conditions.
I thought about going with some Z2's, but then I told myself I don't drive enough to worry about the tread life of the R888's so I might as well go for the R compound tire.
All I'm asking of the r888's is to last one year...3,000 miles and roughly 6-10 auto crosses while being stored on the car in a temp controlled garage. Is this too much to ask?

I used to run my track tires on the street in the summer and really liked the performance but found a couple of problems... a surprise rain makes things interesting since mine always had little or no tread, they were sticky enough that all the starts and low speed shifts that happen on the street and not the track put a little more stress on the drive train (I did crater the diff on a hard shift), and finally some people take exception to the tires... won't pass a state safety inspection, and AHM rep initially declined to cover the diff after a inspection.
