225 S02s are not any wider than a normal 225 tire, its just that the tread extends all the way to the edge.. they are very square. The tread width is equal to that of a 245 tire in other models.
Exactly!
Here is a picture that depicts this phenomenon:

Both tires are 225/50/16. The one on the right is an OEM SO2. Notice how both tires are more or less the same "width", however, if you look at only the part that touches the ground, the SO2 has a much wider contact patch because of its "blocky", square design. That's why you need a 245 tire.

You have a tire that is about 1" more in diameter. This makes it 4% off on the speedo and you'll also lose 4% mechanical advantage when accelerating.
There may be future ABS problems with a larger diameter tire as well.

No problems should develop through just one set of tires right?

Going back to the s-03s after these are done...

^ If your ABS hasn't acted up by now, it's not likely to. Other than this, there should be no problems except your car will feel a little sluggish getting of the line.

what do yall mean by acting up??

as far as sluggish, before it just had the 225 s03's (what it had when i bought the car, so now it should have a larger contact patch, just suckier tires)
