Go to www.tirerack.com (just clickie on the banner above) and find tons of info on tons of different tires (no falken, toyo, or nitto, though).

Long/short, Star Specs are Extreme Performance tires which will offer more grip. SPT's are Ultra High Performance tires, lower performance category, longer life, greater grip.

Most important thing is for you to figure out what your wants and needs are regarding tires and then select the tire that best fills the bill.

Max dry grip?
Max wet and dry grip?
Tracking/autoXing?
Longevity a factor?
Any possibility of use in snow/ice/cold?
Price a factor?
