Default Question on Low Offset Wheels

So I've found a good deal on local CL ad selling Advan RS 17x9.5 +35 all round. It was a good deal so I went loco, I bought it and took them to Costco to get new tires (RE-11A). When it was mounted on the S2k, it looked like an off-road car, the wheels and the tires are sitting like 3-3.5 cm far beyond the fenders.
Shortly, I took them for fender rolling and pulling, hoping to get looks like this:

(sorry ESCALVANTE, I need to borrow your picture for a perfect example)

The shop (general shop for subarus) says that they cannot do such an aggressive pull because it'll damage the paint. Giving too much negative camber will wear my tires fast and the tires couldn't be tucked in neatly. The best way is to go to a real body shop, they say.

My question is that does this kind of fender pulling achievable without doing fender flaring?
I try to avoid selling my wheels
What are your thoughts? What will you do in order to be cost-effective?

Thanks

You realize the car pictured has over fenders and wider front fenders right? No fender roller will be able to make a stock bodies s look like that picture. Cost effective? Sell the wheels buy ones that fit. What size tires did you buy? The rears can fit with a 245 in the rear and camber. Fronts would need a stretched 225 and camber. Are you driving on those wheels right now? Easy way to get damage.

Oh sorry, I forgot to mention what tire size I bought. They are 255/40/17 squared simply because many people use 255 for both 9.0 and 9.5 width on non-staggered wheels.
In the end I raised the car so that it's about an inch gap between the tires and the fenders.
If I were to get over fenders, I know the paint is not going to match.

About the camber thing, I came to a suspension geometry shop for an advice, one of the guy says that the rear camber adjuster for S2k is on the lower control arm, which means that even though you maxed out the camber, the top portion of the wheels aren't going to be tucked in as much as I want it to. So I assume I will need a camber kit then?
Then one guy says that he will do offset altering for around $400 bucks for all four, which I doubt doing that.

So right now my question is, how much money do I have to spend for over fenders at an ordinary body shop if I were to keep my wheels? There's not much body shops near my town, I only know one that does an incredibly amazing job for a very expensive price; they can charge you around $800-$1000 for a front bumper repaint. I just need a price benchmark to compare reasonable prices.

Camber: Of course they aren't tucked in like you need because you need a LOT of negative camber with this fitment, especially in front. If you are maxed out on stock adjustment (say -2 to -3), then going aftermarket will give you more range (up to -5ish) but you already stated you don't want extreme camber.

Offset altering: NO. The only way I know to do this is shave material off the back side of the mounting pad. This will weaken the wheel and you won't be able to take off enough to make a difference anyway.

I can't help you on the body stuff. In order to do this right, you need +30mm front fender and a functional rear over fender with the quarter panel cut like the car pictured. This won't be cheap.

The bottom line is you bought wheels that don't fit a stock body with 255 all around. You need to be in the +50 to +55 range. Nice choice on tires though, I'd try to keep them. You bought the wheels used, should be able to sell them without losing too much money. Maybe one of the hellaflush guys will buy them and run with 225 tires and -6 camber. Best of luck.

Yeah I doubt shops are going to do flaring for cheap. I think the easiest and cheapest way is to sell the wheels and get a new one as MangaSpawn mentioned earlier.

Thanks

Post pic of your 4x4 please
Seriously!

Anyways, depending on what rear over fenders you get and new wide front fenders... painted and installed will cost you at least a few grand.

It's been rolled and stretched out a little bit.

Moral of the story:
17x9.5 +35 with 255/40/17 won't fit without flaring your fenders!

No moral of the story is do your research before buying wheels and tires only to find out they don't fit.

that red car has some rather excellent fender work done to it. fronts look to be cut and flared and the rear looks like it has a big flare on it. doesnt look to have over fenders. i would be really surprised if it wasnt repainted after that work was done.
